RIP Porky’s

So it seems our good old friend Porky’s is no more.

We walked past today, only to discover it is now known as ‘Seventy Seven.’ This was apparently the original name of the club when it opened in 1988.

I thought it lost a lot of its appeal when the Eurasian chick with the enormous boobs stopped encouraging the passing trade to enter inside.

I really do miss the sight of her.

  1. And I see the Tunnel nightclub (dragonfly) has reverted to its original name with an interesting paint job and signage in Earl Place behind Porkys

  2. I’ve seen some seriously amazing, and some seriously depressing things in that place over the years. Porkys is dead. Long live Porkys!

She’s still there – I walked past on the weekend and almost tripped over them!

  7. When I was in Australia 1992 on a work visa I visited Porky’s several times a week. I loved the place; good looking dancers who could actually dance. In 1995 they had extended the set from 3 songs to 6 songs, which was really too long. Too bad.
In 1994 I think I saw Kait in London, but didn’t talk to her. I regretted that ever since.

  8. Well, Seventy-seven did not last long.

    Long live Porky’s.
