Fantastic rooster
There’s a rooster and a fantastical island scene down at the corner of Foley and Langley Streets, Darlinghurst.

It’s just behind Oxford Street, near Taylor Square, and along with a Kill Pixie diss by some Slayer lover, there’s a fetching rooster stencilled on the wall.

There’s also this vaguely occult collection of symbols pasted up: an island palm, a pyramid, a skull, waves and sand.
Kill Pixie vs Ozco
With all the recent hubbub about artists and children, you’d think Kill Pixie would steer clear of this kind of work.

The evidence is there though. Kill Pixie flagrantly flouting the Australia Council for the Arts‘ ruling on artists working with young children, here at the Paddington Early Childhood Centre. But maybe, to be fair, it’s a relic, a throwback to a happier, more innocent time.
Car wash stencils closed
There’s a car wash wedged between Darlinghurst Road and Victoria Street, in Darlinghurst, near St John’s Church. It used to be a great thoroughfare: good to drive through, good to walk through.

The ‘Splash’ carwash/car park was only recently rebranded, but, as you can see, it’s closed for the moment.

The car wash is bound on one side by a leg-high wall stamped with stencils by the likes of Kill Pixie. A friend from London visited a few weeks ago, and knowing he’s obsessed with street art, it was one of his first stops. Gone or just another haphazard change for this random car wash?
